The Latest Country Fashion Trends for Autumn/Winter 2026
Autumn/Winter 2026
Why Country Style is having a moment!
There’s something we’re particularly loving about fashion this autumn — country style is having a real moment.
The country look has made its way well beyond muddy boots and weekends in the countryside. Heritage-inspired jackets, fleece gilets, quarter zips, rugby-style stripes and beautiful earthy colours are becoming part of everyday fashion too.
For those of us who have always loved country clothing, it’s lovely to see.
At Kingshall Country, we’ve always believed country clothing shouldn’t only be worn for a particular occasion. We love pieces you can throw on for the dog walk, wear to a country show, head into town in or simply live in at the weekend.
So, with autumn well and truly here, these are some of the country fashion trends we’re loving for Autumn/Winter 2026.
The Fleece Gilet – A Country Classic
For us, a fleece gilet is one of those pieces you reach for again and again.
There is a reason its become such a staple of British country clothing. It gives you the extra bit of warmth without feeling like you've put your winter coat on too early, This is something very useful with our unpredictable British weather.
Throw over a shirt or polo on a milder day, or layer it over a quarter zip when the temperature drops.
We particularly love our signature olive and navy Fleece Gilets They work beautifully with denium, boots and other country staples, but they're also incredibly easy to wear away from the countryside and thats another thing we love most about the modern country look, you dont have to be heading into the country side to waer it.
The quarter Zip is here to stay "who doesn't love a quarter zip. We have seen this on our recent polls!!
If there’s another piece that has become a firm favourite in the country wardrobe, it has to be the quarter zip.
Smart enough to look put together but relaxed enough for everyday life, it’s probably one of the easiest things to style during autumn and winter.
Jeans, boots, a quarter zip and a gilet over the top — simple, comfortable and very country.
We tend to gravitate towards the classic countryside colours: navy, olive, mocha and warm neutral shades. They’re easy to mix and match and, more importantly, they don’t feel dated when another season comes around.
Olive, Navy & Earthy Colours
If you’ve followed Kingshall for a while, you’ll probably already know we have a bit of a soft spot for olive and navy. Our Olive is our signature colour!
Luckily for us, those traditional country colours are having a moment too. Olive greens, deep navy, warm browns, mocha and other natural tones are appearing throughout autumn fashion and are so easy to wear together.
They also reflect something we really believe in at Kingshall — buying clothing you can keep wearing rather than choosing something because it’s fashionable for five minutes.
A classic olive gilet or navy quarter zip isn’t going to suddenly look out of place next autumn.
Country Meets the High Street
This is probably one of the trends we find most interesting.
The line between traditional country clothing and everyday fashion is becoming increasingly blurred.
Heritage checks, tweed-inspired textures, practical jackets, gilets, knitwear and countryside colours are being worn in a much more relaxed and contemporary way.
You don’t have to wear the full country look either.
It could simply be a fleece gilet over jeans and a knit, a country jacket with trainers, or a quarter zip worn as part of an otherwise everyday outfit.
We love seeing traditional British country style being interpreted in a fresher way.
Rugby Shirts & Heritage Style
There’s also a definite return to pieces with a traditional sporting and heritage feel.
Rugby-style shirts, stripes, checks and textured fabrics all sit beautifully alongside country clothing.
A striped rugby shirt with jeans and boots has that relaxed British feel without looking overly styled, while heritage checks and tweed-inspired pieces can add just a little countryside character to an outfit.
It’s less about dressing head-to-toe in traditional country wear and more about taking elements of it and making them your own.
Layer, Layer, Layer
Anyone who spends time outdoors in Britain knows how quickly the weather can change.
Which is probably why layering has always been such a big part of country dressing.
Start with a polo or shirt, add a quarter zip, then throw a fleece gilet over the top. When it gets properly cold, add your coat.
It’s practical, but it also happens to create that effortless layered country look we love.
And when the sun unexpectedly appears? You can simply take a layer off.
Country Clothing Isn’t Just for the Countryside
This is something that’s always been important to us at Kingshall.
We love the countryside, but we don’t think your favourite country clothing needs to stay there.
Wear your gilet on the school run. Throw your quarter zip on to meet friends for coffee. Wear your country layers shopping, for a Sunday lunch, on a weekend away or simply around home.
The best clothes are the ones you actually wear.
And perhaps that’s why country style translates so well in everyday fashion. It’s comfortable, practical and easy to make your own.
Timeless Over Trend-Led
It’s slightly ironic to talk about country clothing being “on trend”, because the pieces we love most are usually the ones that never really go out of fashion.
A good country fleece gilet, classic quarter zip or polo can be brought out year after year.
That’s much closer to how we think about clothing at Kingshall.
We’d rather create pieces that become old favourites than something you wear for one season and forget about.
